DISCLAIMER: I am not a nutritionist. I am someone who has tried 100 diets & failed 99 times.

My story begins at the start of 2019, when I decided to fully commit to the Keto diet. “Eat fat to lose fat?” Sounds easy, sign me up!

It wasn’t easy.. but I remained consistent & true to my new high-fat/low-carb lifestyle. I did very little exercise, I ate as much as I wanted & I incorporated intermittent fasting to my everyday routine. I lost a total of 50 lbs while on the Keto diet, which is unreal to even write, but after the first 9 months my weight began to plateau. I was no where near my goal weight & I was struggling to lose extra inches.

So I had to switch things up a bit.

Fast forward to March 2020- I learned the importance of counting calories. I learned carbs are not evil, they are good for my body & a super important source of energy! I also learned protein shakes will NOT turn me into Dwayne Johnson. Phewwww!

With this new knowledge- I began keeping track of my macros, weighing everything I ate, switching from full fat foods to protein-packed meals, walking twice a day, following home workouts three times a week & drastically changing my outlook on food. In just 3 months, I lost an extra 25 lbs. YAY! This constant progress is what’s inspired me to create this food blog & help others that may be having a tough time losing weight.

Adding protein to every meal, and knowing what I put into my body by way of counting macros has been pivotal in helping me maintain & surpass my weight loss goals. It’s improved my energy & focus levels, I feel full for longer periods of time & I feel stronger everyday.
